Privacy Policy

Sentryn is built so this policy can stay short: the app has no user accounts, and it keeps what you record on your device rather than sending it to us.

What the app stores

Your commitments, reflections, settings, and usage history are stored locally on your device, in the app's private storage. Because this content stays on your device and is not sent to us, we do not have access to it. It is removed when you uninstall the app or use "Reset everything" in Settings.

What the app transmits

The app does not send the content you create in Sentryn — your commitments, reflections, and history — to us or to third parties. It does not include analytics or advertising SDKs and does not send telemetry or crash reports. Spoken reminders are generated on your device by its built-in text-to-speech engine. The only reason the app may use the network is to process a subscription purchase, if you make one (see Purchases).

Backups and exports

You can export a backup file of your data. It is created only when you choose, encrypted with a passphrase you set, and saved wherever you decide. We do not receive or store that passphrase and cannot recover it, or the contents of the backup, for you. Once the file leaves the app, what happens to it is under your control.

Separately, you can export your own history — your commitments, completions, and accountability records — as a CSV file, so you can review or analyse it in a spreadsheet off-device. Unlike the backup above, a CSV export is plain text and is not encrypted. It too is generated on your device only when you choose and saved wherever you decide; we never receive it, and once the file leaves the app what happens to it is under your control.

Purchases

If you buy a subscription, the purchase is handled through Google Play's billing system, and your payment details are processed by Google under Google's privacy policy; we do not receive or store your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to verify and manage subscription entitlements; limited purchase information (such as an anonymous identifier and your subscription status) is shared with RevenueCat only to deliver the subscription, under RevenueCat's privacy policy. The app stores on your device whether a subscription is active.

Permissions

Sentryn asks for notification and alarm permissions so reminders can reach you, and (on Android, optionally) an exemption from battery optimisation so they arrive on time. It also uses standard device capabilities to deliver reminders reliably — for example, to keep a timer running and to re-schedule reminders after the device restarts. These permissions are used only to deliver Sentryn's reminders, not to collect information about you.

This website

This site is static. It does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers, and it does not ask you for any personal information. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and operational purposes.

Age

Sentryn is not directed to minors and is intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to take on a paid subscription; the age requirements are set out in the Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
